What does the extra capital buy?
Gold costs USD350,000 more in deposit than Silver and RM400,000 more in property. It buys ten more years on the pass. It does not buy the right to work, because neither category has it.

- Can I work on MM2H Silver or Gold?
- Neither permits it. Employment is not allowed and nor are business or investment activities, on either category. Only Platinum opens both, so choosing Gold over Silver does not move you closer to being allowed to earn.
- What is the difference between MM2H Silver and Gold?
- The deposit rises from USD150,000 to USD500,000, the participation fee from RM1,000 to RM3,000, and the minimum property from RM600,000 to RM1 million. In return the pass runs 15 years instead of 5. Every other condition is identical.
- Is MM2H Gold worth the extra deposit?
- It buys ten additional years on the pass and nothing else. Since Silver is renewable, the real question is whether locking a further USD350,000 is worth avoiding two renewal cycles. For most applicants it is not, which is why Silver is the usual entry point.
