Fixed deposit USD150,000. Minimum property value RM600,000 or above. Pass 5 years, multiple-entry, renewable. Employment not allowed; business not allowed.

Business or investmentNot allowed
Employment Not allowed as a category condition. The Immigration Department separately publishes a permission-to-part-time-working procedure for MM2H participants, with conditions including advertising the role locally first.
EducationDependent children may study up to tertiary level at any government-recognised institution, either on the existing MM2H pass or on an automatically granted Student Pass.
Medical check-upA medical check-up at a clinic or hospital on the MOTAC panel is compulsory for the principal and dependants after approval.
RenewalThe pass is renewable every 5 years once the programme maximum has been completed, on production of a valid passport, a current medical report and health insurance. Renewal fee for this category: RM1,500.
TaxNo tax on foreign funds or foreign income brought in, and none on the profit earned by the fixed deposit in Malaysia. This is the programme stating its own tax position; how any particular income is treated still depends on your tax residency and is a matter for the Inland Revenue Board.
Change of principalOn the death of the principal, the MM2H pass of the deceased is transferable to the next-of-kin among the registered dependants.

What is the fixed deposit for MM2H Silver?
USD150,000, placed with a Malaysian financial institution licensed under the Financial Services Act 2013 (Act 758) or the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 (Act 759). Up to 50% of the principal fixed deposit may be withdrawn after approval, for purchasing a residence, education, medical treatment or tourism activities in Malaysia.
Can I work or run a business on MM2H Silver?
